Happy Labor Day! Rest & Recharge Resources Inside ⚡️
Diana's Creative CornerHappy Labor Day all! I normally reach out quarterly, but I had a few ideas for inspiration and creative invigoration... so, I thought I'd send them along Dear readers... Hope you're enjoying a restful and rejuvenating Labor Day weekend! 🎉 I'm in Grand Junction, CO with family - taking in the gorgeous Colorado skies and even more gorgeous Colorado nature. Here's a picture from our recent hike at the Colorado National Monument! Did you know that getting out in nature is actually a benefit to the body and brain? Yes! And, here is a UCLA Health Article that explains 7 Health Benefits of Spending Time in Nature 📚 Another option to rest and recharge - coloring 📚✨ Ode to our legends that passed - Dolly Parton and Gloria Steinem ✨ These events reminds me of the importance to live our lives each day -- and value the truth that our work can leave a lasting impact! When Dolly passed, I created a coloring book with her words of wisdom, here it is if you'd like to download, print, turn on some Dolly and color: ⚡️ Gloria Steinem, was an amazing trailblazer ⚡️ Her passing has helped me to honor her revolutionary work and reconnect with my own change-making efforts. “Telling each other our stories is the single most revolutionary act in every way…change comes from telling the truth and knowing that you're not alone.”
- Gloria Steinem
For anyone who would like to get started (or strengthen) telling their story, I have posted my workshop The Shattered Story Process on my website - (Click Here) ✨Rest in Power Legends! ✨ 🎭 Post-Fringe re-charge guide (applicable for everyday people)Many of us artists know first hand the absolutely amazing experience of performance -- and the not so amazing experience of recovery. Often we feel a whole host of emotions that can impact our day and productivity. Good news: it's not you! It's actually neuroscience and biology - phew! Check out this helpful guide by PlayWell (click here), shared by EdFringe Vet Sarah Louise Young, for science-backed tips on navigating post-Fringe blues. The guide is geared towards Edinburgh Fringe artists, but whether you're coming out of a stressful presentation at work, a production season, a brilliant vacation or any number of experiences where cortisol runs high, the ideas might be applicable to your experience. I'm still recovering from performing my solo play Rise at Hollywood Fringe and, although it's been a bit since performance, I find these tips and brain science quite helpful! :) ✨ Ok, thank you for your energy and enthusiasm ✨Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! Sending best wishes everyone's way 💫 🎭 PS - Don't forget to join me for the upcoming events!
